About

Yokohama flagship for Baird Beer—Bryan and Sayuri Baird's Shizuoka craft brewery founded in Numazu in 2000, now in Shuzenji, with multiple World Beer Cup golds to its name—opened January 2011 as Baird's fourth taproom and Japan's first authentic American-style smoked-BBQ pub. Pitmaster Chuck Morrow, a homebrewer-turned-barbecue-believer local to Yokohama, pitched the concept and sourced the 'Big Red' smoker from Mesquite, Texas; fourteen-plus years of conditioning later, brisket, ribs, and chicken run low-and-slow over wood fire. Three floors of rough-hewn wood and faded brick across 57 seats—1F bar, 2F tables, 3F rooftop deck and garden house. Twenty-five taps plus two hand pumps, including the house-exclusive Bashamichi Ale: a beechwood-smoked Brown served as real ale. No cover, no otoshi, kids welcome.
