Opened May 1998 in a Gotanda basement, built with Irish materials and craftsmen shipped in for the job—the closest thing to a proper pub in this corner of the Yamanote. Thirteen taps run year-round draft Guinness, rotating UK and Japanese craft, draft cider, and what they claim is the only authentic cask real ale in Gotanda. The owner-chef's kitchen is built around fresh Japanese oysters (paired with Guinness by design), fish and chips, shepherd's pie with coarse-ground lamb, and pizza dough kneaded with beer lees. No cover, open until 2am weekdays, sports on the big screen. English-speaking staff and English menus—expat regulars and the office crowd in equal measure.
