CIDER SHACK opened in 2020 near Namikibashi as a cider-first counter bar run by Atsushi Doi and “Charlie,” who went to the UK to chase traditional wild-fermented ‘real cider’ and came back opinionated. Inside is DIY timber, an L-shaped counter, and one small sofa—more cider nerds than photo hunters. The setup is cash-on: grab a menu, pay as you go, and keep it moving for the next drinker. About a dozen taps split cider and craft beer, with occasional hand-pulled pours for UK pub texture. The fridge holds bottles too—cider, cidre, and some Belgian curveballs. Pair it with takoyaki; pick your sauce like you’re ordering a flight.
