THE DODO HOUSE opened July 2017 in Shimomeguro’s back streets, built as a small Italian counter-bistro that treats beer like the first course. The program is tight: seven rotating Japanese craft taps and a short, Japan-heavy wine list (about eight bottles), with pairing-leaning plates rather than pub food. They post a “Today’s Craft Beers” list on their site, so regulars come in already knowing what’s on. Seating is 26 with 12 at the counter; you’ll hear glass clinks more than music. There’s a ¥300 service charge, cards and transit IC work, and QR pay doesn’t. Order a half pour first, and time your food orders—one cook runs the pass when it’s busy.
