About
GREMLIN opened in 2014 in Hatagaya’s Golden Center basement, and it’s still run quietly on the owner’s rules—beer only. Owner Tohara (戸原寛允) built a lot of the interior himself and later became a co-owner of Cycad Brewing, so the tap choices skew opinionated rather than broad. The signature is dispense: three hand-pump “real ale” lines next to three keg taps, mostly Japanese breweries, poured with low carbonation and a UK-ish pace. On match nights the TV comes on and the regulars take over the long counter. Food is pub-leaning (pickles, potato salad, occasional okonomiyaki). No cover; cards don’t work—PayPay does.
