KARAKURI opened in June 2018 in Kanda’s backstreets, one floor down in a tired office building. It runs on an odd trio—craft beer (seven rotating taps), atsukan-leaning sake, and natural wine—held together by oden and small seasonal plates. The move is pairing, not “try everything”: start with oden broth, match a bitter or saison, then switch to warmed sake when hop fatigue hits. Gear-logo glassware and a compact counter keep it feeling like a workshop. It’s a small-crew operation, so pace your orders. Seats are 22 and the ¥600 otoshi is non‑negotiable; reservations carry a minimum spend. Non‑smoking inside; smoke is outside.
