Opened in Akihabara’s Izumicho, Craft Beer 2むぎ is run by Yoshida, a Doemens-certified beer sommelier, with Matsumiya running the kitchen. The opening beer “Tsumugi” (a Kölsch brewed with Kunitachi Brewery) sets the tone: tidy, restrained, beer-first. It’s a small room—counter-heavy with a TV tap list—so conversations stay contained and pours move quickly. Expect a tight rotating lineup of Japanese seasonals plus the odd Germany-leaning pick, usually served in sensible 320ml-ish sizes. Food is izakaya-leaning: sashimi when it’s good, beer-marinated karaage, and small plates built for pairing. They also sell cans and bottles to take home. If you’re indecisive, ask what just went on; it changes without warning.
