SHOGUN BURGER is a Toyama export from the yakiniku house Daishogun; CEO Daiki Honda built the brand on butcher logic—blending wagyu cuts and smashing them hard for crust. The Shinjuku shop (Kabukicho, ground floor) opened in 2018 and stays open late, so the room fills with post-shift locals and a steady stream of travelers. It’s more canteen than burger shrine: concrete walls, counter stools, quick turnover. They’ve chased competitions, taking Japan Burger Championship honors and cracking international contests, so the menu reads like a playbook: double cheese, teriyaki, foie gras, plus thick shakes. If you want beer, start with the in-house SHOGUN BEER (saison yeast, US hops) and remember the 10% late-night surcharge after 22:00.
