Opened in 2017, The Wigtown is a 20-seat, fully non-smoking Scottish pub on the south side of Kichijoji—counter first, tables for pairs, no charge to sit down. The owner did the Dublin-pub apprenticeship and the Scotland distillery circuit (120+ visits), so the back bar is curated, not random: single malts, gin, and proper cider alongside UK beer. Food is pub-standard but real—fish and chips, pretzels, and whatever the chalkboard says. It attracts whisky nerds and expats who want conversation, not a sports-screen roar. Order small pours early; the good bottles disappear. If you’re here for “craft beer” only, take the cider anyway.
