Under the JR tracks at Yurakucho since 1988, this is a proper German beer hall, not a themed approximation. Hofbrau Munich pours from the tap - Original, Dunkel, and the wheat Weissbier - and the correct move is a pitcher shared across one of the long wooden tables while the Yamanote trains rumble overhead. Bring people: 120 seats fill with after-work crowds, and the room runs warm and loud. Anchor the food with Weisswurst, German potatoes, and sauerkraut, and let the organic Trautwein wines cover the non-beer drinkers. Non-smoking, cards accepted, no cover charge. Come for volume and honest Bavarian lager, not quiet.
