One minute out of Keikyu Kamata, this is the flagship of the G.G.C beer-hall chain, and it wears its "Japan's No.1 German draft" claim without irony. Sixty seats under bright, canteen-plain lighting; groups clatter over shared platters, and the noise climbs once the tables fill. The tap list runs past seventy: Weihenstephan, Erdinger, Chimay, Lindemans, a house Kamata label, plus a few European IPAs. The move is the Schlenkerla Marzen, smoky enough to split the table, with one of thirty-odd house sausages or the Eisbein. Ten percent service rides the bill; an English menu is on hand. Come with a crowd, not a date.
