Baird Brewing’s Takadanobaba outpost has been pouring since 2016, aimed squarely at students and neighborhood regulars rather than sightseeing itineraries. The room plays “modern kominka”: worn dark timber, hand-made furniture, and a chalkboard tap list—around a dozen drafts with a couple seasonals. Food leans izakaya, with kushiage doing the heavy lifting when you need something oily to keep pace. Grab a counter seat and you’ll catch the cadence of regulars naming beers by nickname. There’s an outdoor patio if you need air. Don’t overthink it: start small pours, then lock in on the shop-only Baba Oatmeal Smoke Porter when it shows up.
