Opened December 5, 2014, ten years deep in a mid-first-floor walkup directly above Yushima Station, also walkable from Ueno-Hirokoji and Okachimachi. Despite the French name (Ailes means 'wings', not ale) the room runs Dublin-pub aesthetic: dark wood counter, low spot lighting, bartenders in waistcoats, and a jellyfish tank that arrived a few summers back. Eight to ten taps centered on Japanese craft (COEDO Hanayoi and similar) plus one of the few permanent Hoegaarden Rosée draft pours in Tokyo and a proper Guinness pull. Tasting flight of three. Strong Islay malt shelf and a no-ice fruit cocktail program (fresh grapefruit mojito, salt peach, pineapple coconut). Signature plate is Australian crocodile and chips, low-fat and high-collagen. Smoking allowed (no cigars). Open until 3:30 AM. Closed Sundays and holidays.
