Folk opened in 2018 in Jinbōchō and runs like a burger shop that took beer seriously: open kitchen, charcoal-grilled patties, and a bar-height counter with four seats for solo diners. The taps are usually a tight set (around six), rotating Japanese craft plus the occasional import, so ask what just kicked and avoid the sleepy keg. It’s landed on Tabelog’s burger “100” list, so lunch lines happen and the room turns fast. It’s not a hangout for minors—after 17:00 it’s 20+ only—and reservations come with a one-drink/one-food-per-person rule, which keeps table campers out. Do the smoky/bacon build, then take one to-go if you’re heading back to the book streets.
