BANNER PUB opened 2024-12-24 above Waseda-dori in Nishi-Waseda, a 31-seat room split between a long counter and compact tables. You climb to the second floor; it’s not a street-level walk-in magnet, which helps. The décor plays “UK pub,” but the real tells are the guitar/keyboard corner and a turntable setup, plus a TV that flips into football mode when there’s a match. The list leans on selected American craft beers, with cocktails and highballs as backup, and the kitchen runs smoke-heavy BBQ and low-temp meats (smoked beef ribs are the move). No cards: cash or PayPay/d払い/Alipay/WeChat Pay. Menu and staff support Japanese and Chinese. It’s all-smoking—commit or bail.
