Running since 2007, CATARATAS is one of Shibuya’s pre-boom beer rooms: a basement of posters, low ceilings, and amber light that makes every label look older than it is. It’s less “Tokyo craft” and more a global fridge—Belgian lambic, German wheat, random imports—plus a short draft list anchored by Pilsner Urquell and occasional oddities like Czech 5‑liter mini‑kegs. Food isn’t an afterthought (sausages, curry, proper bar plates), and there’s no cover, so regulars treat it like a second living room. Seats are limited to about 20; pay by card or QR and don’t expect table service. The same crew now runs CATARATAS BOTTLE SHOP at Shibuya Sakura Stage for take-home raids.
