Claimant to the title 'smallest beer pub in Japan'—2.5 tsubo (eight square meters), six to eight standing bodies max, tucked into the 1964-built Miyakobashi Shopping Arcade in Yokohama's Noge district, a 100-meter riverfront harmonica-alley block of snack bars registered as a historic Yokohama building. Owner Masayoshi Kaji opened it in August 2010; he holds international beer-judge credentials and pours six rotating craft taps at 10°C into bespoke tapered glasses so aromas open up as the glass warms. The cryptic name decodes as 'House of Gubigubi (glug-glug)'—the two GBs standing for Good-Quality Beer and Good-Condition Beer—with 'Nubichnom' kept secret, told only to paying customers. Snacks run rillettes, cheese, dried fruit, Sauternes-soaked raisins. No cards, PayPay only.
