Owner Mikiyuki Nagata opened Awashima Soko in Aug 2015 near the Awashima crossing, after a run through restaurants, borrowing the American-diner logic: beer plus smoke plus meat. The board is usually 4–5 rotating taps (max 6), heavy on limited domestic releases, with a small US‑leaning bottle/can corner. Regulars treat it like a request desk—tell him what you’re chasing and he’ll try to source it. Prices push you to sample: half‑pints about ¥900–¥1,000; pints ¥1,400–¥1,500. Food skews BBQ/American-Mexican: jerk chicken, soft spare ribs, mac & cheese, quesadillas. Daytime often flips to a curry tenant (METHI). Smoking is allowed; choose your seat with intent.
