Meguro Republic has been running since 2010 as an ATCF (As the Crow Fly) house: burgers upfront, beer list behind, and a projector for sports. Manager-bartender Yasutaka Higaki (sommelier) keeps the program broad—7–10 taps plus a heavy bottle fridge, with imports sitting next to domestic craft. Their in-house “Meguro Lager” is a contract brew, a reminder this is a bar that curates rather than brews. Bar time carries a ¥330 cover (waived if you’re strictly on burgers), and the room is fully non‑smoking with real counter seating for solos. Come early for quiet pours; game nights get loud. Skip the cocktail list unless you’re stuck; the point is draft and a greasy plate.
