Beer Engine has been pouring since 2016, and it still feels like a Koenji clubhouse for people who care about hand-pulled beer. The headline is the five hand pumps—ask what’s on and expect domestic craft served in real-ale style, not icy “pint glass” theater. The room is small (20 seats) with a tight counter sightline to the taps, reggae and Jamaican references, and a chalkboard that changes with the kegs. It’s a short walk from Koenji Station, no cover charge, and cards/PayPay are fine. Food is bar-simple but serious: jerk chicken is the move if you’re staying. Note the split smoking setup after 20:00.
