In 2019 a group of French expats opened Coaster, a friendly local hangout . The ground floor of a former apartment building was stripped back to concrete and filled with mismatched couches, art and a long bar. Locals treat it like a living room – there’s no table service, so order and pay at the counter. Fifteen taps rotate through European, North American and Japanese beers; expect sours, hazy IPAs and stouts. Burgers and pulled pork come from the open kitchen and there’s a 10% service charge. Grab a sofa seat near the window if you plan to linger and chat.
