Opened November 11, 2022 in the Karuizawa Corp building, three minutes from Chitose Funabashi Station north exit. Owner Annaka-san is an alumnus of Komae's Izumi Brewery (Beer Cellar Tokyo) who went solo with a single-minded thesis: a sour beer specialist. The name 'Sour Swamp' is the literal Japanese for 'sour bog', the rabbit hole he wants you to fall into. Six rotating taps lean Berliner Weisse, gose, fruited kettle sours, lacto-fermented and wild ales, with a few hazies and lagers on the side for friends who have not committed yet. Up to one hundred and twenty bottles and cans in the cooler for drink-in or takeaway, ¥100 corkage if you open them at the counter. Gin shelf for the curious. Counter seats, power outlets, wheelchair accessible, no smoking, solo-dining friendly. Local highlight has been the 2024 Sour Lager collab with Ebina's bread-upcycle brewery Better Life with Upcycle. Closed Wednesday and Thursday.
