Contempus is Y.Y.G. Brewery’s third Tokyo outpost (opened 2021), positioned as a ‘taproom’ rather than a dining bar, a short walk from Gaienmae. Expect around 7–10 taps pouring their own beers, plus a fridge stocked with domestic one-offs and overseas bottles/cans for people who read labels. It’s split over two floors: downstairs is the drinking-and-shopping zone (some American antiques are for sale), upstairs carries a DJ booth and projector for small events. Seating is a mix of counter, sofa, and stand-up spots. Start with a small pour, pick your hop level, and don’t linger once the event crowd rolls in early.
