AKANE is the Dogenzaka offshoot of Shibuya Sakuragaoka’s Taki, opened July 17, 2020, and it keeps the same thesis: Japanese craft beer plus nihonshu, explained like a tasting. It’s a 14-seat fourth-floor box—six at the counter—so the menu is built for pacing: sashimi, seasonal small plates, and salty chinmi that won’t drown the drink. Finding the door means following the sidewalk signboard and riding up to 4F. The owner tours breweries and kura to pick bottles and kegs, then tells you why they’re here. No cover charge, cards and PayPay work, and there’s Wi‑Fi and power at the counter. Fully non‑smoking (smoking spot outside). Go solo; ask what’s fresh on tap.
